Hydrogen (H2)

What is Hydrogen Gas ?

Hydrogen is the lightest element in the periodic table. At standard temperature and pressure, hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, nonmetallic, highly combustible diatomic gas with the molecular formula H2.

Uses of Hydrogen

Hydrogen is many uses and indeed is set to play a major role in the human races future as it burns very cleanly with the only emission being water . it is therefore a fuel of choice as we seek a carbon emssion free greener future . It can be used in Fuel Cells or burned directly in Transport , Heating systems and general power generation

Can Hydrogen be Dangerous ?

Hydrogen is extremly flammable with a very wide combusitble and explosive range . It becomes Flammable at 4% volume in atmosphere and Explosive at 18.3 % - 59%  Volume . As it is lighter than air leaks also tend to congrate in ceiling spaces of buildings meaning specialised sensor installations  are required to detect a build up of gas
