What is Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) ?  

Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) is an inorganic compound, a heavy, colorless, poisonous gas. it is produced naturally in Volcanic eruptions and in Sewers . It can also be producted by burning Fossil fuels such as coal . Sulphur Dioxide SO2 is produced in huge quantities in intermediate steps of sulphuric acid manufacture.

Uses of Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)  

Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)   is widely used in the food and drinks industries for its properties as a preservative and antioxidant.

Is Sulphur Dioxide Dangerous ? 

Whilst harmless to healthy persons when used in recommended concentrations, it can induce asthma when inhaled or ingested by sensitive subjects, even in high dilution.

In high doses it is very toxic and can be fatal .
