Portable Gas Detectors

GX-6000 Benzene Selective Model

Low concentration 10.0eV Benzene selective PID with interference gas removal filter tubes

The Riken Keiki model GX-6000 for Benzene uses a PID sensor more selective to Benzene. Benzene specificity can further be increased using the optional tube holder with pre-filter for the removal of common interference gases such as toluene.

Product Features

Benzene (C6H6) is a natural constituent of crude oil. It is one of the elementary Petrochemicals. Benzene is found in Oil refineries, Petrochemical plants, Steel Works and On-Board Tankers.

Benzene is a powerful carcinogenic. It also causes several other illnesses workers must therefore monitor levels where it is present.

Users find that measuring Benzene at the low levels required to meet global exposure limits is problematic. Users find that Gas sensors sensitive to Benzene are not very selective. This results in sensitivity to other gases commonly present.

The GX-6000 is a game changer, and it just changed the game again with the Benzene Specific measuring mode. The GX-6000 Benzene features a more selective 10.0 eV PID sensor. This allows users to detect the BTEX family of VOC’s including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene with a range of 0 – 100 ppm. In addition, users have access to a library of over 300 VOCs.

Customers filter out all other VOC’s using the PID pre-filter tubes. This allows users to specifically monitor benzene in a range of 0.01 – 50 ppm. The filter tube holder has a unique break away design to avoid accidental damage if impacted or dropped. The filter tube holder also includes a safe and convenient glass breaker for the filter tube tips.

Dual Channel PID Capable

The GX-6000 has 3 PID ranges a 10.6 eV with either ppb or ppm ranges  and the new 10.0 eV.  The GX-6000 is the only PID instrument on the market with the ability to have two PID sensors functioning in one instrument.  Many Customers use the broad range 10.6 eV PID sensor for a preliminary investigation, then switch to benzene mode for a highly specific benzene measurement.

Up to 6 x sensors including plug and play smart sensors

This powerful hand-held instrument allows users to simultaneously monitor up to 6 gases. In addition to the standard 4 confined space gases which include combustibles, O2, CO, & H2S, the GX-6000 has 2 additional smart channels that accept PID, IR or super toxic sensors. Smart sensors retain their calibration data. This allows users can swap gas sensors on the fly as and when required.

The GX-6000 has a strong internal pump, a man-down alarm, a panic alarm, an LED flashlight, and large auto rotating LCD display. Users can specify a single gas PID unit or a multifunctional tool utilizing all 6 channels. Users have access to  a library of over 600 VOC gases to choose from as standard. Choosing from the library is easy with a personalized favourites list of 30 commonly used VOCs. A list of 8 of the most recently used VOCs is also available.

GX-6000 has a rugged design built for the nastiest environments. It is equipped with a removable impact-resistant rubber boot and a dust and water-resistant enclosure with an IP-67 rating. 5 bright LED lights on 3 sides of the instrument mean the alarms are easily seen from a variety of perspectives. Loud Audible alarms and a Vibration feature mean the GX-6000 easily alerts users when needed.
